HTML5 - 3 Dreams Of Black

Ranked #3 on Ebizma's Top 10 Best HTML5 Websites of 2014, "3 Dreams of Black" is an interactive film by Chris Milk, a music video director and photographer. It showcases the creative potential of WebGL, which is a context of the HTML5 canvas element that enables hardware-accelerated 3D graphics in the web browser without a plug-in.

It's basically an interactive music video for the song "Black" by producers Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi (off of their 2011 collaboration album "Rome"). The singing was done by Norah Jones.

It was pretty engaging. I like how the first-person point of view moves with the mouse. In the scene with the cityscape, vegetation grows on the buildings wherever you point the mouse. And in another scene there are a flock of eagles that follow your mouse wherever you position it. Throughout the film various creatures and architecture come into frame. The dreamy music makes the experience even more fitting with the fantasy motif.
